Something with a story behind it.

I made this little bag on a trip to Lake Tahoe. It’s single crochet, in the back loops only, so that every row has the little rib. I used recycled Thai sari silk yarn that I bought on ebay. I plan on lining it and adding a [...]

Finally

I finally finished the third Burda 8665. Buttonholes terrify me. I’m always afraid that I’m really going to screw them up. And it’s hard, altho not impossible, to recover from a buttonhole blunder.
The thing is that I use the programmed buttonholes in my Bernina 180E. They almost always come [...]

Goddess Identity
Neefer, you’re an Angel!
Just like the haloed and winged guardians of good, you truly have a heart of gold, sweet Angel. Whenever there’s a chance to pitch in, save the day or just make life easier for the people around you, you’re the one for the job.

WAH!!!!
I fell on my knee Monday evening, and I’ve been in a brace, unwilling to bend for fear of extreme pain, since then. I had Osgood-Schlatter disease, so now I have a calcification at the top of my tibia. Of course, I landed right on that spot. No permanent damage, and everything [...]

Check out the 1950s Multi-Grain Skirt, the 1916 Sanger Skirt, and the 1930 Salon Trousers. The multi-grain skirt isn’t me, but the other two are must-haves.

Sewing

Stitching together a brighter future

    • I think it puts into question all of the Homeland Security and Northern Command planning for the last four years, because if we can't respond faster than this to an event we saw coming across the Gulf for days, then why do we think we're prepared to respond to a nuclear or biological attack? - Newt Gingrich - on Hurricane Katrina
