Slow, so slow. I was hoping to have it done to take to group tomorrow. Oh, well, next week.

What to make next?

November 8th, 2008 at 9:23 pm » Comments (0)

After looking thru my patterns, I decided that I want to make a jacket. I’d made the Kwik Sew jeans jacket before, so it was cut and somewhat fitted. The arms are too tight, and the short version is too short. I considered the New Look pattern, but it’s hard to get [...]

Penguin Costume

October 12th, 2008 at 5:42 pm » Comments (0)

Progress on the penquin costume!
I still need to make the hood, hem the arm cuffs, and insert elastic in the leg cuffs. I think I’ll sew down the back facing, too.

Penguin Costume

October 7th, 2008 at 12:33 pm » Comments (0)

The penguin progresses. The pattern is traced and fitted; I lengthened the legs by 2 inchs (5 cm). My fabric is prewashed & dried. I am checking to see if I have enough fabric in the image to the left.
I sewed things out of order , so the yellow [...]

Pulguito’s penguin costume has 15 pieces!
I’m so late starting it. I usually have the costume finished by early October.

Me in Vogue 8070
So, what do you think?
When last I spoke of Vogue 8070, I was full of hope. I always am during the fitting process.
I think it looks frumpy. I don’t know if it’s the color or the general sack-like fitting below the FBA (aka too big around the middle) or the [...]

Bias Dress & Inset Corner

September 5th, 2008 at 3:40 pm » Comments (0)

Ah the joys of bias! I tried to capture the difference in length of the 2 back pieces in the left image. It’s hard to see that one piece is longer than the other by quite a bit. You’ll have to take my word that I didn’t adjust the shoulders when taking [...]

BABES Pics

September 4th, 2008 at 12:01 am » Comments (0)

The above pictures were taken by Masouma Rose. We bring fabric and notions and patterns and whatnot to exchange. In the upper left image (or left most depending on the size of your screen), Lisa and I are asking the others which one of us looks better with the fabric. Lisa got [...]
