April 20th, 2016 at 3:25 pm » Comments Off

My Tuffet Last December, SIL and I walked into In Between Stitches quilt shop in Livermore and saw the tuffet class sample. It was really cute. I decided to take the class which is taught by West Coast Tuffets.

A New Top

April 12th, 2016 at 8:48 pm » Comments Off

After using the pink pique to make a yoke, I only had enough to make a shell or tank top. I decided a shell top from Burda World of Fashion from December, 2003. The first step, after choosing the pattern, is to cut the pattern sheets from the BurdaWOF magazine, separate them, and iron them. [...]

Petite Plus Patterns Jean Jacket

April 6th, 2016 at 7:37 pm » Comments Off

Pattern: Jean Jacket at Petite Plus Patterns This pattern has really great instructions. I lucked out in that I didn’t have to make any alterations. (Usually, I choose a pattern that fits my shoulders/neck, and do an FBA and maybe add room in the bicep area.) I did not have to lengthen this. I’m 5′ [...]

Another Burda 7219

April 5th, 2016 at 10:54 am » Comments Off

Me in Burda 7219 showing off my finished tuffet. I had some 100% cotton pique. It’s a lovely fabric, soft, and the pique weave hides wrinkles. Sadly, I did not buy very much of it and did not have enough to make a TnT top, Burda 7219. In the image to the left, you can [...]

Painted Denim

April 3rd, 2016 at 10:03 pm » Comments Off

This is heavy weight denim that my husband bought to cover windows while we were deciding whether or not to redo a wall and take out the windows. I painted these scraps with watered down acrylic paint to see how that worked. It is colorfast. It does not come out in the wash. I recommend [...]

The original is about 1 x 2 inches. I was testing out some pens that the kids don’t want anymore.

Color Me Positive 2016 Week 2

March 27th, 2016 at 9:17 pm » Comments Off

I wasn’t going to do anything for Week 2 until noticed this angel on an Xmas card. It seem appropriate for the quote. I googled and found “figure carrying a large sack” to help me draw a figure carrying a large sack. I don’t know if I’m going to do any more on this topic/quote. [...]

Art Journal Page

March 10th, 2016 at 10:24 pm » Comments Off

I started my art journal page with a collage of ephemera from the holiday season of 2015. The inspiration for this page was the Color Me Positive prompt “gratitude”. I very much enjoy the holiday season. Not only is it a time when I get time off of work (grateful for work holiday), I take [...]

Santa brought me a nanoblocks kit to make a French bulldog. It’s really cute, and I enjoyed making it.

New Jean Jacket

This is the Jeans Jacket (pattern #204) from Petite Plus Patterns. This pattern has really great instructions. I lucked out in that I didn’t have to make any alterations. (Usually, I choose a pattern that fits my shoulders/neck, and do an FBA and maybe add room in the bicep area.) I did not have to [...]
