Thanksgiving Kitchen Towels

in: Sewing

Usually, we have a big Halloween party, so I “save” the Halloween kitchen towels for that. Well, this year, we didn’t have the party, and I put out the towels when I decorated for Halloween. I really liked having Halloween kitchen towels. I decided that I wanted Thanksgiving kitchen towels. On November first, I started the hunt for Thanksgiving kitchen towels. Finally, last night, I found some ugly ones at Walmart. I didn’t get them.

I had given up on the search much earlier, so I bought some towels at Target to use as blanks.

Can you believe that I have zero Thanksgiving-ish fabric in my stash? I decided this Japanese print looked really nice with the towels. I had enough for 2 towels. I sewed one strip on too high; note to self: do not sew when tired. It’s okay, but I would prefer it lower. I decided to try a tree/leaves print in autumnish colors on the 3rd towel, but I sewed that strip on upside down; note to self: do not sew when tired. Anyway, here are my two completed “Thanksgiving” towels.
