Perpetual Motion

Chunguita is also at that stage of perpetual motion. I have found the following method to be useful for getting some GREAT pix (that I haven’t posted to the web). It does require 2 adults or 1 adult and 1 older child who can follow directions and/or be helpful.

Adult 1 (no camera) distracts child while Adult 2 (camera) lies down on the ground about 20 feet away. Adult 1 continues to attempt to keep child distracted, but child is captivated by Adult 2 lying on the ground. Adult 2 starts snapping pictures as child charges.

Depending on the speed of your child, you may be able to get closer or must be farther away.

This doesn’t work in a studio, but you can get great pix with the real sky as a backdrop.

Another advantage is that the child doesn’t have to twist her head into an unnatural position in order to look up into the camera. Or maybe Chunguita is the only one who never wants to look up.

The final advantage is that child thinks it is fascinating and hilarious that you are lying on the ground, so child continues to look straight at you and smiles.
