Things I could have lived without.

in: General

I never wanted to see the sheriff carry my baby nephew out of his bedroom wrapped in a sheet. He looked like he was sleeping.

I never wanted to see my brother, sil, and father clutch at his body and scream.

I never wanted to restrain my sil so that the sheriff could pry her son’s body from her arms.

I never wanted to hear my brother say, “I was right next to him, and I just wanted to sleep.” and cry and moan.

I never wanted to hear how Diego was stiff and cold.

I never wanted to hear my mother say, “Diego died last night.”

I never wanted to hold my sil in my lap while she wailed.

It’s not fair. It’s a nightmare. I want it to stop. I want Diego back.

Fuck, the sky is blue and the sun is shining.

I want it to be Thursday. I want to go back. I don’t want to go on.
