Discarded medications flushed down the toilet have been showing up in the environment. Wastewater treatment does not remove these chemicals from the water. The City of Livermore is sponsoring a Drug Take-Back Event on Oct. 4 from 8am to 2pm at the Police Dept on S. Livermore Ave. Bring unwanted or unused prescription or over-the-counter medications for drop-off. See the website for further info: www.ci.livermore.ca.us/wrd.
