Bias Dress & Inset Corner

Ah the joys of bias! I tried to capture the difference in length of the 2 back pieces in the left image. It’s hard to see that one piece is longer than the other by quite a bit. You’ll have to take my word that I didn’t adjust the shoulders when taking the image on the right (which is of the hem). Each of those squares in the righthand photo is an inch by an inch (2.5 cm x 2.5 cm). I handled the fabric as little as possible after cutting, but I just don’t have enough room to keep it in one place. It got moved back and forth between my cutting table and my bed. The one back grew a couple of inches.

Ha! They probably both grew, but the one side grew a couple of inches more than the other.

Inset Corner

I am a sewing goddess. Just look at that inset corner!

And on the right is the unhemmed dress without a lining. I’m not sure if I like it. Black isn’t really my thing.
