I really like maxi-lock thread for my serger. Once, I bought a cone where the thread was cut every 18 inches or so. If you call them, the number should be one the tag on the inside of the cone, they will instruct you to mail them the cone, and they will send you back a large box of thread in colors that you request. The thread includes serger thread, sewing thread, embroidery thread and other types.
