Burda 8110

in: Sewing
Front view – not too bad
Back view – too small

I making burda 8110.

Side view – too small

These are pix of the first muslin. I’ve already made a major alteration to the pattern by adding 4 inches to the back crotch length, tapering to 2 inches at the sides, and zero inches at center front, and I added to the sides, but I forget how much. Alas, they are still to small. I don’t like how the pockets gape. I’m not sure this is really fixable.

I ripped out the side seams and decreased the side seam allowance to 1/4 inch (0.5 cm) except at the waist where I kept the 5/8 (1.5 cm) seam allowance. That fixed all my fit problems (well, except for the back waist which I haven’t worked on yet – I know I need darts.) except for the gaping pockets. It isn’t as bad, but they still gape. I’m going to have DH take pictures again.

I wonder if my perfectionism is showing?
