- Gather cat shaped pumpkins. Body - long or pear shaped. Head - small, round. Pumpkins for the body should be stable, no wobbling. Feet - mini pumpkins, 2/cat. Tail - cucumber or skinny gourd. Ears - cardstock or felt.
- Other Supplies: Black floral spray. Wooden floral picks - 5 or 6/cat. Poster putty.
- Clean small pumpkin. Turn upside down, and fit on top of large pumpkin. Pumpkin hole may need to be adjusted for stability.
- Set head on base. Draw on eyes. Carve eyes.
- Cut out ears. Mark position on head. Carve shallow channels to hold hears. Do not cut thru pumpkin. Curved channels make more realistic ears.
- Stuff head with newspaper. Paint head, feet, tail, and body. Let dry.
- Remove newspaper from head. Position head on body. If head wobbles, pound floral picks into body to hold head in place.
- Place candle on plate and secure to pumpkin with poster putty.
