Non Sewing Rant
I’ve had asthma for the last 10 years. Cigarette smoke is one of the triggers. Plus, I have 2 small children who are much better off not being exposed to second hand smoke. California is generally intolerant of smokers; Oakland is really restrictive, and I bless them for that. In Oakland, you can’t smoke within 20 feet of a building entrance. It’s clearly posted at the airport, and they even painted it on the sidewalks. Too bad the sheriff deputies didn’t ticket them. It would be a nice source of income.
So now I think that smokers are dirty litterbugs, inconsiderate of other’s health, and are either stupid, illiterate, or blinded by the cloud of smoke that follows them everywhere.

You, good sir make the mistake of thinking that all smokers are inconsiderate. I for instance don’t smoke if there is someone around whom it might disturb and i don’t throw my cigarette butts on the ground. Oh do you own a car ? I don’t…. Do you know how many deadly chemicals your car emits when you turn the key ? Do you know what you actually breathe when you walk through the streets of new york ? I bet you don’t otherwise you would only walk around with a gas mask in future.

Whoa. I had no idea I was a white, trash dirtbag who was dirty,inconsiterate and possibly stupid, unable to read and a litterbug.
Those are BIG words to throw out at EVERY smoker there happens to be in this world.
Some of the richest, smartest, nicest people I know happen to have smoked or still do smoke.
I think you’re putting this huge label on a very small amount of people.
I don’t know how to say this and be kind, but; yes, smokers ARE stupid! You put those chemicals in your body which have been PROVEN to be bad for you and you’re offended when we non-smokers protest being subjected to the smell of your second-hand smoke. I wish we had more strict laws here in Florida about smoking around entrances. I hate going to stores with overhangs (like Walmart) as it traps the smoke and you get your lungs full of it just going in. I was married to a smoker for 15 years. Every winter I would get bronchitis or some sort of respiratory problem. I’ve been divorced now for 8 years and have not been sick one day! Interesting, huh? As far as the label; well, I think it is quite the opposite. The number of considerate smokers is far smaller than the thoughtless ones.
