Cutting Hair in the Bath

Chunguita still uses her bath chair. You know, the blue plastic one that has suction cups to stick to the tub. I don’t know what we’re going to do because soon she’ll be too big for it. We’ve tried to get her to use a bath mat in the tub, but she’s afraid of it. I put the bath mat in the front room, and we’ve progressed from just barely being able to walk by it to sitting on it. Bare feet on it is our next step.

Anyway, because she sits in her bath chair, I cut her hair in the tub. Also, I am fortunate that Chunguita is a patient girl and will sit still almost long enough for me to cut all her hair in one sitting.

We wash Chunguita’s hair every other night unless she uses yogurt or some such as hair styling gel. We condition it with Finesse conditioner, my brand. I have a whole lot of very fine hair, and this is the only conditioner that has worked consistantly for me.

Chunguita’s hair has no curl. It is insistently straight and resists being combed back out of her eyes. I was using water to style it (ie get the stuff back into a barrette), but I’ve been using Dep hair gel. That seems to work well, and if her hair dries before she pulls the barrette out, it will mostly stay out of her face.
