- Drunk driver isn’t paroled to hometown
I have mixed feelings about this case. Yes, she was drinking and driving, and four men lost their lives when she plowed into a tree. The thing is that they had been drinking, too, which may explain why they got into the car with her as the driver. But it doesn’t explain why she was the only one wearing a seatbelt. I don’t know any details of the crash, but that seatbelt probably saved her life. Why weren’t those men wearing theirs? There is all sorts of talk in the article about the evils of driving drunk, and I agree with them. But WHY! why isn’t anything said in more than a passing manner about the seatbelts?

Eating Disorder
- http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20051226/hl_nm/hormone_blocking_early_puberty_dc and Trend of earlier puberty continues among US girls
Early puberty has a very high statistical correlation to eating disorders. Altho the very early puberty, 7 or 8 years, isn’t what I think they are talking about.
- Compulsive eating support groups on the rise
This is very good news. It used to be that OA was the only recourse. The compulsive overeating diagnosis isn’t well known beyond eating disorder specialists. And it should be because eating disorders fall in a continuous spectrum, and it is very easy to go from one diagnosis to another to another and back and so forth.
- Big kudos to Sharon Osbourne for coming out of the eating disorder closet!
